DACRC were commissioned by the Design and Technology Alliance to research and identify the opportunities for design to support small retailers in reducing crime affecting their businesses.
While crime overall had fallen during the previous decade, new types of crime were emerging in 2009 as society changed and technology rapidly developed. New initiatives arose during the 2008 recession such as Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs) with the aim of sharing intelligence between public / private enterprises.

New initiatives arose during the 2008 recession such as Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs) with the aim of sharing intelligence between public / private enterprises.
DACRC researched these BCRPs to understand how they work with business and other partners to respond to some of the main challenges businesses were facing during the recession.
